walk

he walked the dark dangerous streets
till he knew not far from near
he walked the dark dangerous streets
till strangers looked familiar
he walked the dark dangerous streets
till the roads started looking the same
he walked the dark dangerous streets
till muggers knew him by his name
he walked the dark dangerous streets
till his breath begged him to stop
he walked the dark dangerous streets
till his legs threatened to drop
he walked the dark dangerous streets
till the dogs gave up their chase
he walked the dark dangerous streets
till the sun showed him its face
he walked the dark dangerous streets
not because he loved to roam
he walked the dark dangerous streets
because he didn’t want to go home.

framed

I’ve been quiet when you spilled blood
Through scarlet rivers that gushed in flood
Nay, I’ve not once expressed my grief
Not when you decided for me my goddamn belief
I was mute all the nights I tossed awake
As you burnt them loudly at the stake
I never said a word when you blasphemed mine
And took my suffering silence as a sign
I stayed unspoken when you fought your wars
Through my tears wet that twinkled as stars
I kept mum through all the black nights
When you claimed your wrongs as your rights
But good heavens, I must now have my say
For this horror horrible, horrifies me today
This goes beyond the indecent and the obscene
Beyond anything, my immortal life has seen
And so, God looked down on Earth and said
Fuckers, don't put this on my head.
